Functionality and Conversion Efficiency of Solar Energy Inverter
The function of solar energy inverter
Solar electric inverters not only have the function of direct/alternating current conversion, but also have the function of maximizing the performance of solar cells and system fault protection. To summarize, they have automatic operation and shutdown functions, maximum power tracking control functions, anti-isolated operation functions (for grid-connected systems), automatic voltage adjustment functions (for grid-connected systems), DC detection functions (for grid-connected systems), and DC grounding detection functions (for grid-connected systems).
Automatic operation and shutdown function
After dawn, the solar radiation intensity gradually increases, and the output of the solar cell also increases. When it reaches the output power required for the inverter to work, the inverter starts to work automatically. After entering the operation, the solar energy inverter constantly monitors the output of the solar cell component. As long as the output power of the solar cell component is greater than the output power required for the inverter to work, the inverter will continue to operate, even in rainy days. When the output of the solar cell component decreases and the output of the inverter approaches 0, the inverter enters standby mode.
Maximum power tracking control function
The output of the solar cell component varies with the intensity of solar radiation and the temperature (chip temperature) of the solar cell component itself. In addition, due to the characteristic that the voltage of the solar cell component decreases as the current increases, there is an optimal operating point that can obtain the maximum power. The intensity of solar radiation is always changing, and the optimal operating point is obviously also changing. To keep the operating point of the solar cell component at the maximum power point relative to these changes, the system always obtains maximum power output from the solar cell component, and this control is called maximum power tracking control. The biggest feature of the solar energy inverter used in solar power generation system is that it includes maximum power point tracking (MPPT) function.
What is the conversion efficiency of solar energy inverter?
The conversion rate of solar energy inverter refers to the efficiency of the inverter converting the electricity emitted by the solar panel into electric power. In the photovoltaic power generation system, the inverter plays the role of converting the DC power emitted by the solar panel into AC power and transmitting it to the power grid of the power company. The higher the conversion efficiency of the solar energy inverter, the more electricity can be generated for personal use or sale.
