High Intelligence Level of Smart Solar Street Light with Automatic and Flexible Lighting Control
Understanding Smart Solar Street Light
With the rapid development of society, economic growth, urbanization, and the development of new rural areas, solar street lights have been widely used in our lives and have shown great market potential. With the strong support and promotion of various countries, the market size of solar street lights will rapidly increase. Traditional lighting equipment consumes huge amounts of energy, wastes energy, and affects the ecological environment. It significantly limits the utilization efficiency of lighting equipment. Therefore, emerging smart solar street lights, with the advantages of energy saving, environmental protection, low maintenance and operation cost, and high efficiency, have become the preferred solution for street lighting.
Understanding the High Intelligence Level of Smart Solar Street Light and the Flexibility of Light Control
The control modes of smart solar street light include automatic mode and time control mode.
The automatic mode uses a light sensor to gather the environmental brightness of the equipment's surroundings, and calculates whether the brightness is in the state of daylight or darkness through an algorithm. When the environmental brightness reaches the standard of darkness, the street light will be turned on. When the environmental brightness reaches the standard of daylight, the street light will be turned off.
The time control mode of smart solar street light operates by manually setting the time to control the lighting. The time control mode includes six time periods, allowing the user to automatically adjust load brightness time and power according to their needs. For example, the light can be turned on at 6:00 pm with a brightness of 30% and turned off at 7:00 pm; turned on again at 7:01 pm with a brightness of 50% and turned off at 8:00 pm; turned on again at 8:01 pm with a brightness of 70% and turned off at 10:00 pm.
The automatic mode of smart solar street light greatly reduces the involvement of staff, but it cannot flexibly control the lighting according to actual conditions, so the street light may turn on too early or too late. The time control mode can accurately control the opening and closing of the street light and can be flexibly adjusted according to weather conditions. This solution combines the advantages of both control modes and adopts the strategy of photo control mode prioritizing over time control mode: if the brightness reaches a certain value at night, even if the start time of the first stage has not yet arrived, the street light will be turned on. On the contrary, if the brightness reaches a certain value during the day, even if the end time of the last stage has not yet arrived, the street light will be turned off.
If users want to control the individual lighting, turn on/off, and dimming of a specific project, they can enable the map mode. The map mode emphasizes an overview of the whole project and can display the device's location, online number, and light count statistics.
